LORENZO DE PRETTO: graphic advertising designer, cartoonist, creator of characters and mascots such as PREZZEMOLO of Gardaland (since 1993), BRUKY, MOVY, the world of ZODIAKVILLE® and many others.
Lorenzo De Pretto fonda il suo studio agli inizi degli anni ’90.
Dal 1993 si occupa del coordinamento e alla realizzazione grafica di tutti i progetti legati ai personaggi del parco Di Gardaland e del relativo merchandising.
Dal 1995 al 2006 gestisce della direzione artistica del mensile a fumetti PREZZEMOLO distribuito in tutta Italia ed edito inizialmente da Egmont e successivamente da Gaghi Editrice.
La supervisione dei due videogames di Prezzemolo e la serie di cartoni animati dedicata al draghetto, realizzata dalla Rainbow e trasmessa da Mediaset. Con il personaggio Prezzemolo ha pubblicato alcuni libri, tra i quali “Prezzemolo – Le storie più belle” edito da Vittorio Pavesio Productions, e “Prezzemolo e la festa sottosopra” edito da Arnoldo Mondadori Editore.
Per il Gruppo Banco Popolare inventa un nuovo personaggio BRUKY, un bruco che abita in una megalopoli con i palazzi a forma di frutta, affiancato da altri simpatici personaggi-insetti.
Nel 2007 Realizza per la Piemme Edizioni i disegni di “Geronimo Stilton alla scoperta dell’America” primo fumetto dedicato al personaggio Geronimo Stilton. Con Geronimo Stilton realizza altri due volumi illustrati “Il Mistero della Gondola di Cristallo” (2009) e “Hotel Zanzibar” (2012).
Nel 2014 inizia la sua collaborazione come disegnatore per il settimanale Topolino® (Disney- Panini Comics).
Nel 2015 scrive e dirige il corto animato ZODIAKVILLE® che racconta le avventure ambientate in una cittadina abitata da soli segni zodiacali antropomorfi, personaggi creati dallo stesso Lorenzo De Pretto. Il cortometraggio, realizzato in collaborazione con gli studenti dell’istituto Big Rock, riceve la nomination nella categoria Pilot TV al festival internazionale d’animazione Cartoons on the Bay indetto dalla RAI.
Nel 2018 realizza l’illustrazione del poster per il film “Finché c’è prosecco c’è speranza” nominato tra i 10 migliori poster cinematografici italiani del 2018 al Trailers FilmFest.
Nel 2020 a Piovene Rocchette (VI) realizza una installazione artistica lunga 14 metri, dedicata a Albert Uderzo il creatore di Asterix®, opera che aveva avuto nel 2017 l’autorizzazione e la supervisione della stesso Uderzo.
He began his career as a designer in 1985 thanks to a brief collaboration as an inker for Silver, the creator of Lupo Alberto. In the early Nineties he won the competition organised by the Gardaland Amusement Park for restyling the Prezzemolo mascot. Since then, he has dedicated himself to the coordination and graphic implementation of all projects related to the Park’s characters and pertinent merchandising.
From 1995 to 2006 he managed the artistic direction of the monthly comic strip PREZZEMOLO distributed throughout Italy and published initially by Egmont and later by Gaghi Editrice.
He supervised the two Prezzemolo video games and the cartoon series dedicated to the green dragon, produced by Rainbow and televised by Mediaset. He published several books featuring the Prezzemolo character, including “Prezzemolo – Le storie più belle” (The most beautiful stories) published by Vittorio Pavesio Productions, and “Prezzemolo e la festa sottosopra” (The topsy-turvy party) published by Arnoldo Mondadori Editore.
For the Banco Popolare Group he created a new character, BRUKY, a caterpillar who lives in a megalopolis with fruit-shaped buildings, flanked by other insect-characters such as Angelalla the butterfly, Klinky the firefly and Spiderted, the greedy spider.
For Piemme Edizioni, he made the cartoon drawings of “Geronimo Stilton alla scoperta dell’America” (Discovering America), the first comic strip dedicated to the Geronimo Stilton character. With Geronimo Stilton, he published two other illustrated volumes “Il Mistero della Gondola di Cristallo” (The Mystery of the Crystal Gondola) (2009) and “Hotel Zanzibar” (2012).
In 2014 he began his collaboration as the weekly Topolino® (Disney – Panini Comics) designer.
In 2015 he wrote and directed the animated short ZODIAKVILLE®, which recounts the adventures set in a town inhabited only by anthropomorphic zodiac signs, characters created by Lorenzo De Pretto himself. The short film, made in collaboration with Big Rock institute students, received a nomination in the Pilot TV category at the International Cartoons Animation Festival on the Bay organised by RAI.
In 2018 he illustrated the poster for the film “Finché c’è prosecco c’è speranza” (While there’s Prosecco, there’s Hope) nominated among the 10 best Italian film posters of 2018 at the Trailers FilmFest.
In 2020, in Piovene Rocchette (VI), he implemented a 14 metre-long artistic installation dedicated to Albert Uderzo, the creator of Asterix®, a work that had been authorised and supervised by Uderzo himself in 2017.
